The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) assesses a patient's individual needs and formulates treatment plans based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) treatment approaches to remediate the mental or social disabilities. The BCBA will work primarily with patients registered in Autism Clinic program and may consult to other clinics as appropriate. The BCBA will evaluate new patients to assess treatment needs, develop individualized behavioral treatment plans and instructional materials, provide individual, family, and group-based behavioral treatment to patients and their families, collect and analyze data to assess progress and treatment outcomes. The BCBA will also coordinate care with other providers, supervise relevant trainees and any staff providing ABA, and, in coordination with the service chief, develop new behavioral treatment programs to meet Department and community needs.

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.
Evaluates new patients/families and assess behavioral treatment needs. Provides consultation and intervention regarding behavior management and effective education.
Provides individual, family, and group-based behavioral treatment plans and instructional materials to patients and their families. Develops crisis intervention plan when needed.
Provides technical assistance and staff development regarding effective interventions and positive behavioral supports and techniques.
Provides professional development and training of trainees and other staff, as needed, including applied behavior analysis, learning principles, behavior modification techniques, positive behavior support, and contemporary behavioral issues to positively impact service delivery.
Participates in program design and development for services for individual with behavioral issues, reviewing the written proposals, participating in the group discussion and resulting decisions.
Develop aftercare plan as needed to include how gains can be maintained and behavioral plans can be generalized to the discharging environment. Coordinate care with relevant providers at Stanford and in community.
Consults with other staff and trainees working with patients with behavioral needs on behavior management techniques and information on specific patient needs.
Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
Education: Master's Degree in a work-related field/discipline from an accredited college or university
Experience: Two (2) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience
License/Certification: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Knowledge of naturalistic developmental behavioral interventions.
Cultural competence and clinical sensitivity is required for treatment of families from diverse backgrounds with high levels of stress
Ability to manage crisis situations and maintaining patient safety
Functional assessment expertise is necessary for treatment of patients displaying severe challenging behaviors
Ability to work closely with medical teams in a multidisplinary approach
Ability to conduct functional behavioral assessments and design, implement and monitor behavior intervention plans.
Assist patients and their parents in acquiring academic, social, and adaptive life skills
Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English effectively at a level appropriate for the safe and effective performance of the job.

Pay Range
Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role.
Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.
Minimum to Midpoint Range (1.0 FTE): $97,884.80 to $115,658.40
