Luckey Farmers, Inc., a grain marketing, and farm supply cooperative located in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan seeks a branch manager for its Cygnet location. The operations manager is responsible for the overall direction and leadership of all branch operations, providing members and customers with prompt and effective service while maintaining efficiency

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

· Responsible for all operations of the branch

· Develops and implements actions that maximize location profitability

· Plans, establishes and coordinates work schedules, assignments, and application sequences to meet sales partner goals and accommodate operational hours

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Manage employees and assign duties to the location team members
  • Evaluate the team's performance and maximize the utilization of the location staff
  • Manage operating costs, product quality, and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operations
  • Lead coordination of custom application team, maintaining accurate records and adhering to company safety standards
  • Provide educational opportunities for staff and team members to ensure compliance with industry educational requirements
  • Provide direction and develop plans to comply with state and federal requirements on environmental issues and D.O.T. regulation. In-depth understanding of 4R’s preferred
  • Work closely with the safety manager to ensure a safe working environment
  • Develop strong working relationships with key Leadership Partners in Operations, Finance, Marketing, and Sales to ensure commitment to each other and our company's strategy
  • Other duties as assigned.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

· Follows Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures as they apply

· Supports and contributes to the total company goals and objectives through collaboration efforts

· Maintains the appropriate professional image

WORK ENVIRONMENT ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, snow, ice, etc.).
  • Noisy conditions.
  • Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures.
  • May be required to work at varying heights.
  • Lift 51 - 70 lbs.

· Ability to work extended hours and on-call as business conditions warrant.

BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS:

· Normally requires an Associate’s Degree in an agricultural or business discipline, or the equivalent thereof, and work experience to demonstrate knowledge to effectively manage the assigned facilities and personnel

· Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, a satisfactory driving record, and have the ability to travel independently. Class A licensure is preferred

· Must be able to obtain and maintain all applicable certifications, licenses, and permits
