What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grain Associate position at Luckey Farmers?
This position performs a wide variety of labor-related duties in the grain elevator and feed mill.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
· Loading trucks
· Grading grain
· Working in the grain elevator
· Working in the Feed Mill
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Unloads/loads trucks at the facility
· Performs general clean-up of elevator including sweeping, painting and other general housekeeping duties
· Assists in maintenance at the facility
· Runs appropriate series of tests on different grain
· Enters information into a computer
· Weighs trucks in and out of the facility
· Manual labor as assigned
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
· Follows Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.
· Supports and contributes to total company goals and objectives through collaboration efforts.
· A positive and optimistic approach to your work.
· Ability to pay attention to details.
· Other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Seasonal weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, snow, ice, etc.).
· Noisy conditions.
· Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures.
· May be required to work at varying heights.
· Lift 51 - 70 lbs.
· Ability to work extended hours and on-call as business conditions warrant.
BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS
· High School diploma or equivalent GED
· Experience working in agriculture and operating farm equipment, is highly preferred.
· Strong personal motivation
