Lucky Goat Coffee is a specialty coffee production roaster based out of Tallahassee, Florida and making waves nationally. Since opening in 2010, Lucky Goat Coffee has continued to remain focused on the expansion of the brand through exceptional customer interactions and company specialization. On the journey towards greater specialization, the Café Leader position has been developed.
The Cafe Leader position is responsible for leading a Lucky Goat Coffee Cafe team in an efficient and profitable manner. This includes but is not limited to: day to day store operations, quality control, fostering a positive community environment, ensuring consistent quick service with a focus on hospitality, training new staff and developing the current team. The Cafe Leader, along with the leadership team, set the standard for the brand by exhibiting the company values of quality and service.
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of leadership experience, preferably in service or hospitality industry.
- Ability to prioritize conflicting demands focused on delivering solid and consistent business results.
- The ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment for a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Proven management and organizational skills - with thoroughness and attention to detail.
- Proven leadership and ability to work on own initiative without supervision.
- Ability to consistently exhibit high levels of discretion, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills and ability to influence others.
- Superb communication skills including effective listening, writing, and presenting; ability to express thoughts in a clear and concise manner.

- Certified Food Safety Manager (preferred).
Job Description
- Leader of the cafe customer experience. Ensuring all customers receive excellence in both products and services by working 20 hours off the bar engaging with the café guests and overseeing administrative tasks. Administrative task hours should not surpass six hours a week.
- Assist with investigating and effectively resolving customer and employee issues keeping in line with our core values and in partnership with the Retail Leadership team.
- Oversee café operations and bar flow by dedicating 20 working hours behind the bar in a midshift capacity delivering excellence by the cup.
- Cultivate a cafe environment that is inviting, clean, and mirrors the Lucky Goat Coffee brand image. Assess facility conditions and take immediate action to correct and ensure the best customer experience.
- Partner with the Café Area Director to deliver and grow café sales and other business metrics year-over-year. Optimize every sales opportunity by ensuring the café team consistently executes café merchandising strategy, café operations and other company initiatives.
- Provide consistent communication and model expected behaviors to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.
- Oversee the Homebase scheduling system to meet daily cafe needs and adjust to business demands. Execute the scheduling and deployment of café team to ensure that all team members work effectively to provide superior customer service and achieve productivity goals.
- Cultivate a culture that attracts and retains the highest quality of employees.
- Partner with the Lucky Goat Coffee Educator to establish a well-trained staff to elevate the level of education and training. Ensuring your cafe team has a strong, working knowledge of all Lucky Goat Coffees, café operations, etc.
- Oversee cash handling and loss prevention processes including being able to perform all POS duties and tip share. Control shrinkage, expenses and payroll and hold the café team accountable to do the same.
- Manage inventory levels, receiving, purchasing, waste control, and equipment maintenance and repair. Par levels will be established and maintained at the Cafe level.
- Maintain high-quality standards of food and beverage preparation in accordance with Food Safety regulations.
