What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Technician position at Lucky Health & Safety?
- Electronics/Instrumentation: Performs routine calibration, maintenance, repair, cleaning and sensor change-outs on various types of equipment which may include fixed and portable gas monitoring systems (H2S detection system), emergency strobe lights and air movement/ventilation equipment. Returns monitoring equipment to active status within established time frame.
- Respirator Equipment: To perform receipt of inspection, cleaning, servicing, reassembling, and testing of various SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus) 5 Min. Work line Unit and other respiratory equipment and breathing air equipment in accordance with approved testing and service procedures including operation of flow test machine.
- Safety Attendant for Hole Watch/Fire Watch: while assigned to jobs will be working outside of confined spaces and will be responsible for monitoring and protecting the workers the confined space, and alerting rescue if necessary. Will also be responsible for monitoring and permitting workers and preventing fires, and if necessary extinguish small fires. The safety tech will also be responsible for protecting personnel working under Grade D Breathable air, and will be responsible for monitoring the air quantity and air pressure being delivered to the workers. Air monitoring will be at least once every hour pending on concentrations and reading levels will be documented. For more accurate reading tubes will be pulled every 12 hours at a shift change if working 24 hours or upon customer's request. Attendants will be constantly scrutinize a prescribed area of concern as the main job duty by completing a specific job task JSA form while on location or if the job task remains the same a new JSA will be done in 12 hour intervals or shift change if the job is a 24 hour job.
- Fire Extinguishers: Upon arrival of extinguishers techs are required to tag them with customers name, date, make, size, serial number, and other applicable data. Perform visual monthly inspection as needed; only certified fire extinguisher techs are permitted to perform maintenance and recharging of extinguishers: such as six years maintenance, hydrostatic testing, and annual inspection and be able to repair various types of fire extinguishers (cartridge or stores pressure) with a two day turn around.
- Drilling Rig Packages: Rigging up and rigging down H2S packages. Observe location to know where to install briefing signs (i.e. by foreman's trailer, geronimo lane) sensors, monitors, strobe light and siren box.
- Cascade Grade D Systems: Do proper inspection on cylinder including checking for hydro dates, serial numbers, and lubricating quick connections (with: non-toxic lubricants) check pressure on cylinders; make sure regulators are working properly, visual checks for weather cracks on hoses.
- Completes all documentation associated with service in a timely and accurate manner and obtains signature from customer if necessary so that proper invoicing and documentation can be provided to the customer. This includes all inspection and repair documents, job cost billable expenses and time sheets.
- Assist others in facility including stocking shelves with clean, tested and ready to use equipment and pulling , staging and loading customer orders onto trucks for delivery.
- Maintains work area and other areas in a clean and orderly condition
- Performs basic maintenance and care of assigned vehicle and/or trailers.
- Social media is not permitted on any job site location
