Automotive Locksmith Compensation and Benefits

Automotive Locksmith Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Certificate from locksmith vocational training and apprenticeship, preferred
- 2 years as Automotive Locksmith
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record required
- Able to pass a drug test and background check
Experience – knowledge with special tools to open, install, repair, and replace a variety of lock systems and access control devices for cars.

Automotive Locksmith Responsibilities
- Purchasing and installing recommended locking devices.
- Creating duplicate keys using a key-cutting machine.
- Inspect, adjust, and repair locks, and security systems.
- Fix and maintain locking devices and security systems.
- Use hand and power tools, and special equipment to install, repair, and replace locks, security systems, and access control devices.
