Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dog Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in dog handling and training, with a genuine love for animals. This role involves working closely with dogs of various breeds and temperaments, helping them learn obedience skills and proper behavior., getting them ready for adoption.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized training programs for dogs based on their specific needs and behaviors.
- Monitor the progress of each dog and adjust training methods as necessary to ensure effective learning.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment during training sessions.
- Assist with kennel duties as needed, including feeding, grooming, and exercising dogs.
- Ensure proper animal restraint techniques are used during training sessions to ensure safety.
- Pay will be dependent on experience and quality.
Qualifications
- experience in dog handling or training is preferred; certification in dog training is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of animal care principles, including grooming, feeding, and general health practices.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when handling larger breeds or moving equipment as necessary.
- Experience with kennel operations or as a veterinary assistant is a plus.
- A compassionate approach towards animals, demonstrating patience and understanding in all interactions.
- Familiarity with animal restraint techniques to ensure safety during training sessions.
