About the Bookkeeper / Client Accounting Specialist Role
We are seeking a Bookkeeper to provide bookkeeping services, manage client engagements, and contribute to process improvements. If you enjoy working closely with business owners and are passionate about making accounting more accessible, we want to hear from you!
Bookkeeper / Client Accounting Specialist Key Responsibilities
- Process invoices, bills, checks, and deposits
- Reconcile statements, accounts, and ledgers
- Post journal entries and generate financial reports
- Assist in payroll processing and payroll report reconciliation
- Prepare 1099s, tax forms, and insurance audit information
- Serve as the primary contact for assigned clients
- Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes
- Collaborate with CPAs and team members to support tax filings
- Manage multiple clients while meeting deadlines and budgets
What We’re Looking For
- 3 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience (preference for contracting/construction industries)
- High school diploma required; Associate’s, BA, or BS in Accounting-related field preferred
- Expertise in QuickBooks (Desktop & Online) and Microsoft Excel
- Willingness to learn and implement new accounting technologies
- Time Management: Ability to juggle multiple clients and deadlines
- Problem-Solving: Proactively recognize issues and develop solutions
- Client-Focused: Strong communication skills to explain financial concepts to non-accountants
- Attention to Detail: Ability to double-check work for accuracy
Work Environment & Expectations
- Candidate must have easy commuting distance of the South Charlotte area
- Travel to client sites (50%) and attend weekly staff meetings in Pineville
