Job Summary
The Produce Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the produce department within a retail environment. Duties
- Supervise and train produce department staff, fostering a positive team environment.
- Manage inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, and stocking produce items.
- Ensure all products meet quality standards and are displayed attractively to enhance sales.
- Develop and implement training programs for staff on product knowledge and customer service techniques.
- Monitor sales trends and adjust inventory and displays accordingly to maximize profitability.
- Handle cash register operations, including cash handling procedures and daily reconciliations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the produce department in compliance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with upper management on budgeting and financial planning for the department.
Requirements
- Proven experience in retail management, preferably in a grocery or produce environment.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Experience in budgeting and financial oversight within a retail setting.
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Familiarity with cash register operations and cash handling procedures.
- Knowledge of market trends related to produce sales is desirable.
- Previous experience in wireless sales is a plus but not required.
