Produce Department Manager

Job Summary
The Produce Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the produce department within a retail environment. This role involves managing inventory, ensuring product quality, and leading a team to provide exceptional customer service. The Produce Manager will work closely with staff to maintain a well-organized and profitable department while adhering to company standards and policies.

Duties

• Supervise and train produce department staff, fostering a positive team environment.
• Manage inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, and stocking produce items.
• Ensure all products meet quality standards and are displayed attractively to enhance sales.
• Develop and implement training programs for staff on product knowledge and customer service techniques.
• Monitor sales trends and adjust inventory and displays accordingly to maximize profitability.
• Handle cash register operations, including cash handling procedures and daily reconciliations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the produce department in compliance with health regulations.
• Collaborate with upper management on budgeting and financial planning for the department.

Requirements

• Proven experience in retail management, preferably in a grocery or produce environment.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Experience in budgeting and financial oversight within a retail setting.
• Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
• Familiarity with cash register operations and cash handling procedures.
• Knowledge of market trends related to produce sales is desirable.
• Previous experience in wireless sales is a plus but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37 – 40 per week
