We strive to build a crew of caring people who possess self-discipline and enjoy working in the restaurant profession. We operate North Asheville and South Asheville locations and a catering department. We are locally and independently owned, food quality driven, and well known for our fun and eclectic work environments and memorable guest experiences. SUMMARY
The General Manager is the overall leader in the restaurant responsible for maintaining the written standards of the company and ultimately delivering the financial and qualitative measurements of success. To achieve this, the manager must be an expert at balancing the needs of the team, the guests, the community and the company.
Runs the entire restaurant with a focus on quality and guest experience
As a leader, can work any position that he / she is supervising, and leads by example
Has excellent knowledge of each position that he / she is supervising
Knows our menu inside and out and is passionate about Southern cuisine
Provides over the top hospitality to the guest throughout their dining experience
Makes sure that all our guests are appreciated
Likes working in a Team environment
An advocate for the Asheville community and lifestyle
Above all, enjoys the hospitality business
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will possess at least 90% of the following :
A four year degree in business, preferably hospitality management
Excellent oral and written writing skills
Adequate computer skills and more importantly, the ability to learn a new computer application quickly and follow the standards associated with it
Above average knowledge of food, craft beer, spirits and other finer things in life
Integrity, honesty, accountability, a passion for excellence and an incapability of making excuses for anything less than excellence
A natural surplus of hospitality extended to guests, employees and vendors no matter the circumstances
Involvement in the community
An unusually attentive focus on details and a compulsive desire to make even the smallest details perfect
Above all, a desire to be the best

Has technical expertise in the areas of beverage management, kitchen operations, human resources management and front desk operations. Knows the standards and procedures associated with each of these areas and can teach them to subordinates
Is an expert at all skills sets of management including shift management, beverage operations, culinary operations, catering operations, and marketing
Is an expert at all skills sets of leadership including recruiting, hiring, training, retaining, and coaching
Maintains cleanliness and sanitation in an exemplary fashion
Demonstrates good financial acumen overall. Can write annual financial budgets for the restaurant and reviews financial performance daily and weekly to ensure the budget is met. Makes the company money
Is capable of writing challenging sales and marketing plans for the restaurant to ensure growing sales and can fully engage the community
The manager must set the example for professional behavior, on and off the job
PHYSICAL / MENTAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, talk, and hear
The employee is required to be on foot for a large portion of the day / shift. The employee is required to stoop, kneel, or crouch; reach with hands and arms; use hands to finger, handle or feel tools or controls; must be able to lift and / or move heavy objects including tables and cases of food and beverage; must be able to lift approximately 20 pounds overhead
When performing office functions, will be required to sit and work directly on a computer for several hours at time
Must be able to sustain constant mental and visual attention
WORKING CONDITIONS
Kitchen environment, including hot areas, hot tools, hot plates, sharp knives and tools
Outdoor off-site catering venues
Office environment
Exempt status
Dynamic schedule can vary from week to week; work required on weekends and holidays and must be willing to work 45-55 hours per week as needed
