LEGAL ASSISTANT/PARALEGAL POSITION
Luisa White Law, LLC is looking for a positive and enthusiastic individual that is geared with thick skin to work in the legal field. On a daily basis, the ideal Legal Assistant will be managing the day-to-day operations of the law firm including carrying out administrative services, providing support to the legal team and ensuring that the firm remains in compliance with state and federal regulations. The ideal candidate for this position has a strong work ethic, exceptional problem-solving skills and is comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic workplace.
Responsibilities
- Perform legal and factual research
- Perform records research
- Identify relevant judicial decisions, statutes, legal articles, codes, and other pertinent material
- Organize and analyze information
- Cross-check and validate information
- Draft legal documents including briefs, pleadings, appeals, agreements, contracts, and legal memoranda
- Help prepare legal arguments, applications, declarations, and motions
- Coordinate appointments and meetings
- Assist with accounting and billing
- Prepare correspondence
- Check and edit legal forms and documents for accuracy
- Build and maintain databases and files
- Organize and track case files
- Review and monitor new and updated laws and regulations
- Coordinate law office activities such as depositions, status conferences or hearings
- Locate and interview witnesses
- Help with trial preparation including witness lists, exhibits and trial binders
- Assist the lawyer in the courtroom
- Establish and maintain excellent client relations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, Associates degree or Certificate program in paralegal studies
- 1 years of experience working at a law firm or within a legal institution
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office software and G-Suite
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Accounting or Bookkeeping skills
- Understanding of online legal systems (Clio, PracticePanther, Cosmolex, etc.)
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Able to take direction and work independently with little or no supervision
- Must be able to speak English and Spanish

Pay: $16.56 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
