Site Of Service
- Internal Medicine Department and Family Practice Clinic at Naval Hospital Pensacola, FL
- Depending on workload, services may be required in the Cardiology Clinic located within the alternate location.
- Full Time
- Degree: Certificate
- Education: Graduate from a medical assistant training program accredited by one of the following:
- Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
- Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
- Formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces.
- Certificate: Current certification as a Medical Assistant by One of the following:
- American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA).
- American Medical Technologists (AMT).
- Additional Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) hands on certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Experience: One year of experience as a Medical Assistant after graduation.
- U.S. Citizenship: Shall be a U.S. citizen.
- English Language Requirement: Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate.
- Physical Capability: Shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and physically capable of performing all services required under the contract.
- Shall normally provide services Monday through Friday between the hours of 0730 and 1800 for an 8.5 or 9-hour shift, including an uncompensated .5 or 1-hour meal break.
- Services will not normally be required on the day of observance of federal holidays.
- Each HCW shall be on duty for about 40 hours each week, except during periods of approved leave and holidays.
- In no instance will a HCW be required to provide services (on-site service plus approved leave and holidays) in excess of 80 hours per 2-week period.
- During a planned closure of the facility due to training, closures before or after holidays family down days, Employee will only be compensated for the actual hours worked. If clinic is closed and employee is not able to work, employee will be required to use leave or take LWOP (without penalty).
