Description
The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for performing Human Resources related duties on a professional level, works closely with the HR Manager and assists with recruiting, employee record -keeping, file maintenance, benefits, onboarding, and payroll processing. The HR Coordinator is responsible for the administrative support of the day-to-day human resources operations.
Essential Functions
- Assists with new-employee background checks and references
- Assists with the coordination of new hires orientation and onboarding process.
- Responsible for preparing new-employee files and maintaining employee personnel files up to date.
- Responsible for coordinating and participating in job fairs, career fairs with local colleges and institutions.
- Assists with processing of terminations
- Responsible for maintaining former employee files according to record keeping guidelines and the annual archive of files.
- Assists and maintains an up to date record of employees background and fingerprinting
- Assists the payroll process biweekly.
- Responsible for creating flyers, surveys, and HR general communications to employees.
- Prepares marketing materials for recruitment of staff and training opportunities.
- Assist the HR Manager with the Sunshine committee meetings and activities.
- Assists or prepares correspondence as requested by HR manager
- Maintains I-9 documentation files for current and former employees
- Assists with recruitment and interview process as needed
- Performs other duties as requested by the supervisor.
Requirements
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Human Resources capacity
- Experience working in a non-profit agency
- Bilingual English-Spanish, preferred
Additional Requirements
- Must have a health screening and TB test prior to the start of employment
- Must pass a criminal records check (Fingerprint Clearance)
- Knowledge of Head Start program preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to perform numerous tasks simultaneously and meet required deadlines
- Ability to keep necessary proprietary information confidential
- Computer literacy, Google suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher, Meets)
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
- Ability to travel out of town to attend workshops or training
- Valid driver’s license and proof of coverage of motor vehicle insurance
Salary : $50,000 - $60,000
