Company Description: Harton Senior Living is a residential care facility for the elderly located in Warrenton, MO. We are a small, personalized facility that is seeking a part-time Activities Director to work the hours of 9:30am-12:00pm, Monday through Friday.
Job Summary: The Activities Director is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing engaging activities and programs for up to 24 residents on a daily basis. This role focuses on enhancing the quality of life for seniors by promoting social interaction, physical activity, and mental stimulation. The Activities Director will work closely with residents, families, and staff to create a vibrant community atmosphere that encourages participation and fosters well-being. During the warmer months, this facility does take one outing weekly to a nearby location utilizing our 14-passenger bus. Class E license is required.
Duties
- Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program tailored to the interests and needs of residents.
- Coordinate and schedule daily activities, ensuring a diverse range of options that promote physical, social, and emotional engagement.
- Collaborate with caregiving staff to assess residents' abilities and preferences in order to tailor activities accordingly.
- Communicate effectively with residents and their families to encourage participation and gather feedback on programs.
- Organize special events, outings, and celebrations that enhance community spirit within the facility.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation in activities and evaluate the effectiveness of programs regularly.
- Work with local organizations and volunteers to enrich the activities offered within the facility.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations during activities and maintain a safe environment for residents.
Skills
- Experience in caregiving or working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of long-term care practices, social work principles, or nursing home operations is beneficial.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to interact positively with residents, families, and staff members.
- A passion for senior care and enhancing the quality of life for older adults through meaningful activities.
- Ability to adapt programs based on resident feedback and changing needs.
