The Operations Manager is responsible for managing the Lulus fulfillment center, setting expectations, and directing and motivating staff members to exceed business goals, while focusing on inventory accuracy and order accuracy. Integrity, tenacity, initiative, and attention to detail are all important attributes the Operations Manager must possess. An innovative personality to drive the department forward during times of rapid growth is imperative.
What You'll Do
Plan, develop, organize, direct, manage and evaluate the operations and budget of the Fulfillment Department
Research and recommend new procedures and/or technologies to improve service levels
Develop department operations policies and communicate this information to staff
Implement profit improvement plans
Develop and exceed key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of the Fulfillment Department
Review reports and demand forecasts to estimate peak periods and issue work assignments
Remain current with the latest warehouse operations technology systems and procedures
Interview, select, coach, train, manage, and develop the performance of the department
Create a positive work environment for all employees and foster strong company culture (our culture is a critical part of our success and you will help drive it)
Plan, develop, and implement department health and safety, and security programs and activities
What You'll Need
B.S. or B.A. degree or equivalent experience
At least 3 years of management experience in Receiving, Inventory Control, and/or Order Fulfillment
Proven ability to effectively motivate, develop, and manage 50 employees, including Leads and Supervisors
Experience with building or improving inventory management, order management, and warehouse management systems and processes
Customer service obsession, with a willingness to do whatever it takes to satisfy customer needs
Excitement about working in a fast-paced environment with a high level of growth and change
Strong project management and continuous improvement skills
Metrics-driven mindset
Excellent oral and written English communication
Flexible to work weekends and late shifts
Experience with Netsuite or similar ERP system a plus
Demonstrated understanding of freight expense and carrier selection a plus
Work Environment
Duties are performed both inside and outside in varying temperatures including heat, cold, and sometimes wet or humid conditions. Exposure to occasionally high background noise is probable.
Physical Requirements for Performing Essential Duties
Sitting/Standing/Walking: Approximately 30% of the time is spent in varying work areas with approximately 70% of time spent in an office environment
Speaking/Hearing: Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors
Vision: Ability to visualize items around the work area
Lifting/Carrying: Ability to lift, carry, and hold up to 50 lbs
Stooping/Kneeling: Ability to stoop and/or kneel to access equipment when needed
Reaching/Handling: Ability to retrieve and work with appropriate equipment and supplies
