Job Summary

Lulus is seeking an experienced, creative, and operationally minded Senior Photographer to join our Creative team. The Senior Photographer is responsible for on-model e-commerce photography, tabletop product photography, and social/editorial content. This role is also instrumental in maintaining and optimizing studio workflows, including software tools, file management, and best practices.

The ideal candidate thrives at the intersection of technical expertise, operational efficiency, and creative vision. They will play a key role in shaping and building our in-house studio while capturing e-commerce imagery that aligns with the Lulus brand.

In addition to daily studio shoots, this role may serve as a digital tech when our second studio photographer is shooting, requiring strong Capture One skills. The Senior Photographer also oversees studio equipment, maintenance, file management, and freelancer coordination to ensure seamless studio operations. You’ll collaborate closely with our creative team, stylists, and production staff to ensure all visual content meets high brand standards and effectively tells the Lulus story.

What You’ll Do

• Capture high-quality on-model, lifestyle, and product photography for lulus.com. 

• Support ad-hoc shoots for still life, social, capsules, or video. 

• Ensure consistent lighting and composition that aligns with Lulus’ brand aesthetic.

• Shoot high-volume ecommerce daily. 

• Capable of lighting sets and testing new directions to develop innovative photography styles that enhance our creative output.

• Work closely with stylists, creative directors, and producers to execute well-planned, visually compelling shoots.

• Maintain and organize studio equipment, lighting setups, and technical tools, ensuring everything is in proper working order.

• Oversee studio cleanliness, equipment upkeep, and organization, creating a professional and efficient workspace.

• Develop and maintain process documentation for digital techs and freelance photographers, ensuring workflow consistency.

• Manage freelancer setup and ensure they execute shoots correctly according to Lulus' creative standards.

• Potentially travel for on-location shoots.

• Ensure productivity and quality metrics are met. 

What You’ll Need

• 5 years of experience in fashion photography, with a strong portfolio showcasing on-model and still-life work.

• Experience shooting high-volume e-commerce.

• Strong knowledge of lighting techniques and ability to adapt to different setups.

• Proficiency in Capture One, and Adobe Photoshop.

• Experience with Canon camera systems and Profoto lighting.

• Ability to direct models on set to capture engaging imagery.

• Ability to think both creatively and operationally. 

• Experience coordinating and overseeing freelancers, ensuring they align with brand standards.

• Passion for fashion, creativity, and brand storytelling.

• Must be able to move equipment up to 50lb across the studio and stand on your feet for long hours.

Nice to Have - Bonus Points!

• Experience with motion content (video) is a big plus.

• Experience shooting social content, BTS, or other supplemental content. 

• Experience with photo production platforms (Creative Force, Shotflow, etc).

Our job postings include an annual base salary range for the role. The stated base salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on several factors, including the selected candidate's educational and professional experience, industry knowledge, location, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process. Base salary is a part of a total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include an annual bonus and other benefit programs.
