THE ROLE:
Responsible for ensuring the front desk is running efficiently while maintaining a high level of service to our guests. Responsible to provide our guests with excellent service at the front desk from making the reservation to departure. Responsible for the night audit activities of the hotel and to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our guests & employees. Complete the daily audit and balance all department accounts. Ensure all postings and any remaining charges are accurate on guest’s folios. Reconciles room and tax audit and post room and tax to all occupied rooms. Balance POS and PMS systems and close the day. Completes reports for management.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Welcome and register guests expeditiously, provide information to guests as needed, obtain identification and credit/check approval as directed by hotel policy. Verify rate and departure date. Confirm and modify information required to complete the registration process.
- Resolve guest problems and complaints.
- Answer all guest questions accurately and resolve problems in a timely manner ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Sell guest rooms, food & beverage outlets and seasonal hotel promotions.
- Communicate with other hotel departments to maintain a high level of guest satisfaction.
- Promote local attractions to guests.
- Assist with reservations as needed.
- Notify management of any pertinent information related to shift activities.
- Be familiar with the operating procedures of all other areas of the hotel, cooperating fully and in a friendly manner with those areas to assure guest satisfaction.
- Be a Team Player and encourage the teamwork attitude among staff.
- Balance all department accounts.
- Reconcile front desk postings and investigate discrepancies.
- Run “End of Day” reports for both POS and PMS systems. Closes the day.
- Completes Night Audit reports and distributes accordingly.
- Adhere to policies regarding handling of employee’s cash bank and keep secure at all times.
- Be knowledgeable in all hotel emergency procedures.
- Ensure areas are free of safety hazards and performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ensures total guest satisfaction.
- Follow supervisor’s instructions and performs other duties as directed or assigned.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR:
- Flexible schedule required! Position requires to work AM, PM, Overnight, weekends and holidays depending on business in the hotel.
- High school graduate. Some college preferred.
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a hotel front office supervisor.
- Previous Front Desk Agent, Night Audit and hotel experience preferred.
- Fire and Life Safety Director Certificate required.
