What You’ll Do
As a Maintenance/Rehab Technician, you’ll play a critical role in maintaining and improving our properties by:
- Preparing Units: Perform make-ready tasks such as painting, carpet cleaning, and light renovations to prepare units for new residents.
- Providing Support: Assist the Service Manager or Service Technicians with maintenance and renovation tasks as needed.
- Conducting Repairs and Preventive Maintenance: Perform HVAC repairs, filter changes, and routine maintenance to keep equipment running smoothly.
- Executing Renovations: Remove and replace materials in units undergoing renovation, including carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.
- Maintaining Grounds: Work with the Groundskeeper to ensure the property and pool are clean and well-maintained.
- Being Available: Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to address emergency maintenance needs.
Qualifications
Who You Are
You’re a proactive problem-solver who thrives on making a difference. You’re a great fit for this role if you:
- Have at least 1 year of maintenance experience.
- Possess reliable transportation.
- Have your own tools to complete job tasks.
- Are proficient in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
- Have training in at least six of the following areas: apartment maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, HVAC, carpet repairs, refurbishing, and cleaning.
- Have an EPA refrigerant license or are willing to obtain one with our provided training and certification support.
Physical Requirements This role requires physical stamina and dexterity, including the ability to:
- Kneel, stoop, and dig for minor trenching; sweep for 1–2 hours.
- Reach overhead with 30 lbs. and pull out appliances from the wall.
- Navigate stairs with an appliance dolly carrying up to 120 lbs.
- Work outdoors in varied weather conditions, from hot to cold extremes.
- Climb ladders to access windows, clean gutters, and perform roof repairs at heights up to 40 feet.
- Handle small tools and clean boiler parts with dexterity.
- Lift 50 lbs. and possess full body mobility for bending, laying down, and other maintenance tasks.
- Test pool chemicals and ensure safe operations.
