What are the responsibilities and job description for the Broadband Product and Sales Manager position at Lumbee River EMC?
Responsible for directing the planning, organization and implementation strategies of broadband and overseeing
the sales performance. Formulates, develops, and executes sales and marketing plans/programs that support
the Cooperative's business plan and that are designed to increase sales and profits while minimizing expenses.
Ensures professional business relations exist with customers, third parties and other external contacts.
What you will do
• Provide visionary leadership to our sales team, guiding them through the intricate landscape of highspeed
internet connectivity. Set the course for our sales operations, spanning from residential to
enterprise markets.
• Forge strategic alliances with municipal and county leaders, navigating the intricacies of government
partnerships and leveraging your expertise in MDU/HOA 'bulk' sales to expand our presence and impact.
• Serve as the guiding light for a team of dedicated residential sales professionals. Mentor, inspire, and
nurture their potential, creating a cohesive and high-performing sales force.
• Craft and manage a competitive compensation structure, blending base and variable components to
incentivize peak performance and the consistent achievement of sales goals.
• Track sales progress, analyze trends, and make data-driven decisions that continually enhance our sales
strategies.
• Identify market needs and work with management to develop new product offerings, with primary focus
on various Calix solutions to meet the growing needs and demands of residential and commercial
markets.
• Owner of the life cycle of all RFPs received by the company. This includes review, pricing generation,
written proposal presented to customer, and follow through with customer. This may also involve
presentations to potential client.
• Communicate effectively and understand the customer’s needs, problem solve, and clearly and concisely
communicate with customers in various forms, including sales presentations.
• Develop and execute a forward-thinking sales strategy that aligns with our company's mission and
values, while adapting to evolving market dynamics.
• Coordinate with Marketing staff to craft unique and targeted marketing campaigns to increase market
penetration in the most financially efficient manner.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Marketing, or related field Required
• Master's Degree Business Administration, Marketing, or related field Preferred
• An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential
duties of the job.
• 10 years Experience in telecom or broadband sales leadership Required
• 3-5 years Experience in product and market development Required
• 1-3 years Experience with Enterprise and Business Development and Sales Required
• 1-3 years Experience with Calix Suite of Cloud Products Required
• Understanding of both residential and enterprise sales in the telecommunications or related industry.
• Exceptional interpersonal and networking skills in a political nature.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and mentor a team.
• A forward-looking mindset that embraces emerging technologies and sales methodologies to gain a
competitive edge in the market.
• Proficiency in data analysis to make informed decisions, optimize sales strategies, and identify
opportunities for improvement.
• Ability to create and deliver regular sales reports and forecasts to management, including as it relates to
product take rates for Calix products.
• Strong knowledge in negotiating complex contracts, partnerships, and agreements.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service with high levels of satisfaction.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing market conditions, technologies, and customer demands.
• Experience in building and leading enterprise sales functions.
• Proven leadership and sales management experience.
• Familiarity with CRM systems and sales performance metrics.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Calix Sales or Marketing Certificates Preferred
