MUST HAVE CDL License with Clean Driving Record
SUMMARY : Drives truck to transport materials to and from specified destinations by performing the following duties. Drivers with Class B License may expect stake body, flatbed dump, or box truck assignment; Class A License may additionally expect semi-trailer assignment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Present a friendly and accommodating atmosphere, helping our customers determine their needs and facilitate their request efficiently and accurately.
- Present a professional appearance and abide by the guidelines outlined in the employee handbook.
- All drivers must be well versed in and follow all safety procedures.
- Responsible for loading and securing materials in or onto their trucks.
- Responsible for verifying that the correct materials are loaded in or on their truck and that they arrive at the jobsite undamaged.
- When needed collects payment for goods delivered.
- Maintains truck and forklift according to state and federal regulations and operates at all times in a safe and responsible manner. Responsible for completing the daily Checklist form.
- Maintains telephone contact with shipper to receive delivery instructions.
- May be required to assemble materials for delivery.
- May be required to pickup materials at jobsite to be returned to yard.
- May be required to put away material that was taken back for credit.
- May be required to provide delivery of materials into buildings including on multiple floors and basements
- Inspects truck, equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water on a daily basis using the truck service checklist.
- Maintains equipment used to secure loads. Responsible for safety of material and truck.
- May be required to perform yard duties including cleaning, snow shoveling and sanding. - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 75 pounds, frequently lift and / or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. - While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
Requirements
Possess a class 1-c or better Hydraulics license.
Possess or be able to obtain a DOT medical card and a valid MA CDL of Class and Endorsements applicable to current fleet assignments.
