BASIC FUNCTION : Responsible for live plant care and sales, product stocking, and customer service in the greenhouse and Lawn & Garden departments
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Interacts in a positive, pleasant and prompt manner with customers in person and on the telephone
Provides the highest level possible of service to all customers
Provides advice and guidance to customers related to plant choices and care
Assists with questions regarding inventory, pricing, and promotions
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of the products sold, product usage, product prices and new products
Ensures products are displayed effectively with direction from the Branch Manager and other store leadership
Attends and participates in all company-sponsored training programs as required
Promotes team concept
Inspects plants to assess quality and identify signs of disease or pests
Unloads incoming shipments of stock, following proper paperwork protocols
Communicates with leadership to exchange all relevant information
Assists customers with loading vehicles
POSITION REQUIREMENTS :
Required Skills / Abilities :
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Basic understanding of plants and their care
Education and Experience :
Prior experience with plant care preferred, but not required
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
