James Donley, DDS and his team are expanding and looking for a friendly dental assistant / front office assistant who is focused on providing the best dental care and education to patients.
An ideal candidate will ensure excellent customer service and assist the dentist with basic tasks. You should be well-organized with attention to detail, while providing direct and indirect patient care. Being able to manage tasks by priority is preferred. When not working with patients, you will assist with other tasks, including answering phones and organizing patient records.
Responsibilities
- Welcome patients in the dental office
- Prepare patients for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort
- Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed
- Sterilize instruments according to regulations
- Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry
- Undertake lab tasks as instructed
- Keep the treatment rooms clean and well-stocked
- Schedule appointments
- Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and post-operative instructions
Skills
- Proven experience as dental assistant
- Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
- Understanding of health & safety regulations
- Good computer skills (Open Dental, Microsoft Office)
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Attention to detail
- Well-organized and reliable
- High school diploma
- Dental X-Ray certification is required
- Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g. EFDA)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
