What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Software Engineer position at Lume?
Note From The Founders
Hey! We're two UT students who came up with an idea for a dating app and are now trying to bring it to life. We're not a big company (yet), just a couple of friends with a vision and a ton of drive. We're looking for someone who's excited to build something real from the ground up and wants to be part of that journey. If you're passionate about coding and want to help shape an app from scratch, we'd love to chat.
About Us
Lume is an app that helps individuals find meaningful relationships through live, 1-on-1 ice breakers. This allows users to see if there's a spark before deciding to match.
But what makes us different from other dating apps?
- Our app is built around live interaction, so no waiting days for a response
- You play fun icebreaker games (Never Have I Ever, 2 Truths & A Lie, etc.) before chatting, so you'll always have something to talk about
- Verification is required, which eliminates almost all scams and catfishing
Role Description
This is a full-time role for a Lead Software Engineer located in Austin, TX. As a Lead Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing front-end and back-end systems, writing and reviewing code, and collaborating with other team members. Daily tasks will include programming, debugging, and implementing new features and optimizations to enhance our app's performance.
Qualifications
• Proficiency in React Native or Swift
• Experience in Software Development (preferred)
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Willingness to learn and work really hard
Compensation
This is an equity-based role. Since we're still in the early stages and don't have funding yet, we're offering equity in the company instead of a salary. We know that's a big ask, but we genuinely believe in the potential of what we're building. We want someone who's excited to be part of that journey from the ground up. If things take off, you'll be a core part of the founding team.
