Position Overview:
An established manufacturing company is seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee daily operations and drive business performance. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, this role carries full P&L responsibility and manages key departments, including Customer Service, Procurement, Production Scheduling, and Logistics. Additionally, the General Manager will collaborate with HR on recruitment, employee training, and development. This position requires a strong leader dedicated to operational excellence, financial performance, and a culture of workplace safety while ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Workplace Safety & Compliance: Foster a culture of safety, ensuring all workplace hazards are minimized. Lead safety training and enforce compliance with industry regulations.
- Financial & Business Performance: Oversee the company’s financial health by managing budgets, controlling costs, and supporting revenue growth. Collaborate with Sales to drive business opportunities and implement cost-saving strategies.
- Operational Efficiency: Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures that promote productivity and quality. Monitor operational performance and identify areas for process improvement.
- Leadership & Team Development: Build and mentor a capable leadership team to oversee day-to-day functions with minimal supervision. Ensure fair and consistent employment practices.
- Strategic Planning & Execution: Partner with the executive team to establish financial targets, plan capital investments, and track business objectives.
- Stakeholder & External Relations: Represent the company when engaging with regulatory agencies, auditors, and key business partners. Maintain strong communication with corporate leadership to align company goals.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a manufacturing or production-based environment.
- Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis.
- Expertise in procurement, supply chain management, and vendor negotiations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with enterprise business systems.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Background in workforce management, including hiring, training, and performance oversight.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. when necessary.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with teams and external partners.
