GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
The Ground Robotics Technician for Autonomous Vehicle Technologies tests the vehicles electronic and mechanical systems before and after installation into a vehicle. Testing will include calibration, closed road testing and tuning, and open road highway testing. These activities are for our remote and leader-follower automated driving vehicles.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Part of the Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGV) technical team in researching, designing, developing, and testing electronic control systems, including mechanical design and hardware installation.
Collaborate with Hardware, Software, and Mechanical design teams
Work independently to resolve existing problems and/or malfunctions expeditiously
Collect and test data toward a given objective
Test and troubleshoot electronic assemblies down to the electronic components level for new designs and existing designs
Interpret drawings, specifications and work instructions
Implement and test engineering changes
Create test plans and procedures for products under development.
Travel to customers sites to perform vehicle surveys, system installations, calibrations, and follow-on testing as needed, oftentimes outdoors, and for a span of a few days to a couple of weeks
This is an onsite position
PREFERED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
AS degree, technical school credentials in related field or equivalent experience
A minimum of 3 years of experience
Intermediate experience with computers and various software applications to include MS Office
Hands-on experience in electronic troubleshooting and testing
Experience in testing, troubleshooting and maintenance of electronic and mechanical systems.
Ability to travel, foreign and domestic, up to 25%
Possess a passport or be willing and able to obtain (at company's expense) to allow for work travel overseas
