Lumina is looking for a Solar Installer to join our Residential team in Halethorpe, MD. As a Solar Installer on the Residential team, you will play a critical role in our solar operations. Your responsibilities will include installing and commissioning energy systems, resolving equipment issues, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and codes, and maintaining high-quality workmanship. This versatile role is instrumental in enhancing processes and supporting the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our solar installations.

In this role, you'll get to :

Load and unload materials at the warehouse, ensuring you have all necessary materials for each job

Load and unload materials at the job site, ensuring all necessary materials are present and organized, while maintaining a clean and orderly work environment

Install and commission energy systems on roofs, including array layout and mounting hardware, tailored to site conditions and customers’ needs and expectations

Adhere to building standards and codes when installing panels and support structures

Address and resolve equipment issues and failures onsite efficiently

Perform routine maintenance on energy systems to ensure optimal performance

Utilize your knowledge to enhance processes and proactively review the quality of workmanship onsite

Work closely with team members and communicate job status to management effectively

Ensure all equipment is properly weather-sealed to maintain system integrity

Keep company vehicles well-maintained, fully stocked, and properly serviced

Follow all safety regulations and policies to ensure a safe working environment

Perform other related duties as assigned to support overall project success

On your first day, we'll expect you to have :

Minimum of 6 months' experience in solar installation, roofing, or general construction

Residential and / or Commercial Solar experience highly preferred

Capability to climb ladders, work on sloped roofs in all weather conditions, and stand for extended periods

Proficiency in safely handling power and hand tools, as well as materials such as ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries, lumber, and roofing materials

Experience with roofing repairs and maintenance is a plus

Experience and comfort working in attics and confined spaces

Ability to lift 75 pounds repeatedly

Must be proficient in the use of smartphones and tablets, utilizing them effectively for communication, accessing job-related apps and software, documenting work progress, and staying connected with team members and supervisors as required

Proven track record of reliable attendance

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Dedication to maintaining the highest safety standards on every job

Position requires passing a drug screening and background check

A valid driver’s license is required for all positions at Lumina Solar
