Job Description
Lumina is looking for an Journeyman Electrician to join our Residential team in Maryland. The Electrician will play a key role in our solar installation operations, leading the installation and troubleshooting of electrical service equipment, wiring, battery storage systems, and EV chargers for residential solar PV systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the installation of electrical service equipment, wiring, and devices required for the installation of residential solar PV systems.
- Install electrical components such as; solar modules, inverters, main service panels and other electrical components for residential solar systems.
- Install and troubleshoot battery storage systems, electrical upgrades, EV chargers, and tie in solar electrical systems.
- Ensure electrical systems meet company standard job specifications, quality requirements, the National Electrical Code, and other relevant local codes.
- Act as an on-site supervisor for install teams and provide regular reports of team activities to the project manager.
- Assist in job safety and overall crew support including staging materials, general site work support, as well as site preparation and clean up.
- Coordinate and communicate with electrical inspectors on projects.
- Provide regular updates of job status, complete necessary paperwork and photos.
- Correspond professionally with homeowners.
- Keep company vehicles well maintained, stocked, and serviced properly.
- Adhere to all of Lumina's company policies and ensure that all safety protocols are followed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support overall project success.
Requirements:
- Valid Journeyman's license required.
- Must have at least 2 years of recent residential electrical experience; solar experience is a plus.
- Experience leading crews.
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Ability to read and interpret Electrical line drawings.
- Ability to read building plans and equipment manuals.
- Proficiency in safely handling power and hand tools, as well as materials such as ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries, lumber, and roofing materials.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, both AC and DC, including troubleshooting, wiring, and assembly.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical installation projects.
- Experience with roofing repairs and maintenance is a plus.
- Capability to climb ladders, work on sloped roofs in all weather conditions, and stand for extended periods.
- Experience and comfort working in attics and confined spaces.
- Ability to lift 75 pounds repeatedly.
- Must be proficient in the use of smartphones and tablets, utilizing them effectively for communication, accessing job-related apps and software, documenting work progress, and staying connected with team members and supervisors as required.
- Proven track record of reliable attendance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dedication to maintaining the highest safety standards on every job.
- Position requires passing a drug screening and background check.
- A valid driver's license is required for all positions at Lumina.
