Operating Partner – Luminar Ventures (San Francisco Bay Area)

We are now looking for a highly connected and experienced Operating Partner to join our extended team in the San Francisco Bay Area . This part-time role is designed for a strategic advisor and connector who can help our portfolio companies navigate U.S. market entry, establish key relationships, and accelerate growth .
As an integral part of our support network, you will play a key role in bridging the gap between Nordic startups and the U.S. ecosystem , leveraging your network to facilitate introductions to investors, customers, and strategic partners, while providing hands-on guidance on market expansion.
Magnus Bergman (co-founding partner) and Reid Jackson (partner at Luminar) will be in the San Francisco Bay Area from February 25 to March 13 to meet with prospective candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted advisor to startup founders expanding into the U.S., helping them navigate business development, hiring, partnerships, and operational challenges.
- Facilitate high-impact introductions to relevant U.S. investors, accelerators, corporate partners, and key stakeholders.
- Leverage your Silicon Valley network to accelerate traction for our portfolio companies, connecting them with relevant communities and decision-makers.
- Provide mentorship and operational expertise to founders in areas such as U.S. go-to-market strategy, enterprise sales, product-market fit, and cultural adaptation.
- Actively participate in Luminar’s network-building efforts , including hosting or attending key events, roundtables, and networking engagements that enhance the visibility and success of our portfolio companies.
- Collaborate with Luminar’s investment team to share market insights and help founders prepare for successful Series A / B funding rounds in the U.S.
