About The Role
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Associate Industrial Designer to join our aviation lighting team. This role focuses on the design and development of interior and exterior lighting solutions for commercial, business, and private aircraft. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, and marketing, to create aesthetically compelling and functionally advanced lighting products that enhance the passenger experience and aircraft aesthetics.

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Associate Industrial Designer to join our aviation lighting team. This role focuses on the design and development of interior and exterior lighting solutions for commercial, business, and private aircraft. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, and marketing, to create aesthetically compelling and functionally advanced lighting products that enhance the passenger experience and aircraft aesthetics.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the conceptualization and development of aircraft lighting solutions, ensuring they align with brand identity, functionality, and regulatory requirements.
- Create sketches, renderings, 3D models, and prototypes to visualize lighting concepts.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure feasibility and implementation of lighting designs.
- Research and apply trends, materials, and technologies in aviation lighting to improve efficiency and aesthetics.
- Work closely with customers to customize lighting solutions based on branding and interior design needs.
- Support the development of color, material, and finish (CMF) strategies for lighting elements.
- Participate in usability testing and ergonomic studies to ensure lighting enhances passenger comfort and safety.
- Assist in documentation, including design presentations, specifications, and production guidelines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Transportation Design, Product Design, or a related field.
- 0-3 years of experience in industrial design, preferably in aviation, transportation, or lighting design.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling software (e.g., Rhino, SolidWorks, CATIA) and rendering tools (e.g., KeyShot, V-Ray).
- Strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Understanding of lighting technologies, including LED integration, diffusion techniques, and color theory.
- Experience with rapid prototyping methods such as 3D printing or CNC machining is a plus.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with aircraft cabin interior design or automotive/transportation lighting.
- Knowledge of FAA/EASA regulations related to aircraft lighting.
- Interest in human-centered design, UX/UI, and passenger experience innovation.
