Position Objective
This individual is accountable for comprehensive function and outcomes of defined areas. Provides an interface with the organization, community, medical staff, and administrative staff for Environmental Services and Security Department.
Essential Job Duties:

- Directs overall operational functions for assigned areas.
- Ensures departmental compliance with the Medical Center administrative and personal policies, and governmental and accreditation regulations.
- Seeks out and directs initiatives for the recruitment and retention of qualified staff on a consistent basis. Implements a practice model that supports staff participation and collaboration.
- Supports continuing education staff for competency development in areas of defined responsibility; manages performance planning, documentation and facilitating individual goal achievement.
- Facilitates customer surveys to evaluate delivery of care, services and interfaces.
- In both formal and informal situations, creates a practice environment where employees progressively internalize and demonstrate the components of customer focused care.
- Prepares, coordinates and administers annual expense budget; projects volumes and needs, justifies variances, and initiates corrective actions to adjust variances accordingly. Collaborates in the development and presentation of annual administrative capital equipment and renovation budget and effects subsequent purchases and renovations during the fiscal year.
- Annually develops, communicates and coordinates area specific strategic plans that are consistent with the organizational goals, vision and mission statement. Produces positive outcomes related to strategic planning initiatives on an annual basis.
- Facilitates, and participates in, ongoing teams designed to plan, communicate, implement and evaluate optional support services delivery systems.
- Updates management expertise through attendance at appropriate internal or external programs as measured by knowledge of trends in specialty, initiating changes, and evaluating or implementing new programs.
Educational/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management or other health-related field.
- Five to eight years of relevant experience plus three years of management experience
Required License/Certifications:
- Certification in Environmental Management and management training; certification through the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety.
Working Conditions, Equipment, Physical Demands:
There is a reasonable expectation that employees in this position will be exposed to blood-borne pathogens.
Physical Demands – Medium
Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
