Position Objective:
The Laboratory Sales & Service Representative (LSR) provides new sales and maintains existing clients for the laboratory outreach program (Conexus Laboratories). This position enhances the laboratory reputation by demonstrating a courteous and professional demeanor during all encounters.
Essential Job Duties:

- Meet and exceed all new sales quota provided by management by targeting sources of unregulated laboratory outreach.
- Foster the growth of Conexus Labs by closing new accounts, maintaining, and increasing sales volumes of current accounts.
- Develop and maintain target and prospect list database. Supply written sales reports, call-reports and territory summaries to management within requested timeframes.
- Work with the Outreach department to plan and implement new client accounts including (but not limited to) pricing agreements, supplies, courier services, computer support, requisitions, training, result delivery, as well as training on these systems.
- Maintain the ability to discuss the operations (including processing and transport requirements) of the laboratory from both a technical and nonprofessionals’ perspective. Serves as a point of contact for customer inquiries.
- Assist manager in communicating policies, procedures and directives; assists team members with questions regarding procedures, policies and directives.
- Serve as a liaison between the client and the laboratory by communicating client problems/concerns to the appropriate lab management staff.
- Provide intelligence on competitive activities, including, but not limited to patient service centers, office phlebotomy, pricing, new test offerings, new services, industry trends, etc.
- Espouses the principals of Lean Thinking and creates a work environment that positively promotes process improvement. Explores opportunities to add value to job (innovative ideas) to benefit the organization and taking ownership of the outcome. Proactively finds other work-related tasks during low census.
- Actively participate in the laboratory quality plan/program (ex. investigative reports, notification of delays, etc.).
Educational/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university. Note: Five years of experience in clinical laboratory sales and service may be substituted for the required education.
- Requires travel.
- One year of experience working in sales and service in a similar position
- Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a business or laboratory science major.
- Preferred Experience: Three years of experience working in sales and service in a similar position.
