Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to lead our organization in promoting a safe and compliant workplace. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing our health and safety programs while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying potential hazards and implementing effective solutions to maintain a safe working environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive EHS programs in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Lead training development initiatives for employees on EHS policies, procedures, first aid, CPR, and emergency response protocols.
- Prepare detailed reports on safety incidents, compliance issues, and training effectiveness; utilize root cause analysis to identify areas for improvement.
- Manage workers' compensation claims and collaborate with insurance providers to ensure timely resolution of claims.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all EHS-related inquiries from management, employees, and regulatory agencies.
- Stay updated on changes in environmental health and safety regulations to ensure organizational compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field.
- Proven experience in an EHS management role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, EPA guidelines, workers' compensation law, and best practices in environmental health and safety.
- Excellent report writing skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
- Experience in training development and delivery related to EHS topics.
- Certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST) are preferred.
- First aid/CPR certification is a plus; ability to provide training on these topics is essential.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in root cause analysis methodologies.
