Summary:
The Electrical Assembler is an important role that is responsible for connecting, assembling and securing parts and components of electronic equipment. The Electrical Assembler performs any combination of the following tasks to assemble electronic components, subassemblies, products, or systems: Mounting duct and din rail, mounting components and pack panels, and wiring back panels. Reads work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Read and interpret electrical control drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, or reports
Assembling control panels according to specifications
Installing and wiring components such as switches, transformers, circuit breakers, and motors
Testing and troubleshooting control panels to ensure they function properly and safely
Perform quality control inspections on wiring installations, assemblies, and circuits
Create terminal assemblies, cables and multiple sub-assemblies
Other duties as assigned
Basic Requirements:
High school diploma.
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
1 year or more experience working in a team environment successfully
Familiar with electrical controls drawing
Must have some knowledge of electrical controls
Ability to use power and hand tools. (Drill, jig saw, screw drivers, strippers) etc.
Ability to read a tape measure
Be able work on his or her own or with others
Ability to read, write & comprehend instructions, correspondence & other information
Be able to perform repetitive tasks
Flexible to occasional work late and on weekends
Self-starter work style
Work Environment / Physical Demands:
Physical duties involved in performing this position include but are not limited to lifting, pushing, pulling, walking, standing, crouching, reaching overhead, stooping, kneeling. Position requires repetitive motion, lifting up to 50 pounds, exerting up to 50 pounds of force to move objects, standing 8-12 hours per day, driving a motor vehicle such as a forklift working from height, and ability to ascend/descend from ladders. Wearing of all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) without restriction is required and passing any medical examination associated with the use of PPE when applicable is required. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
