Position Specifics
Success will require implementing new processes, systems and policies and leading a team responsible for all production materials and after-market parts from order to delivery. Core competencies needed include establish/managing vendor relationships, negotiating pricing, terms, and contracts, mentoring, and ensuring supply for manufacturing and aftermarket sales, while maintaining the highest ethical standards. It is critical to collaborate and challenge Quality, Manufacturing and Engineering to drive change and best practices. This position is based in Savannah Georgia.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform all pertinent inventory transactions as requested, investigate/troubleshoot all inventory discrepancies with all pertinent departments as necessary.
Must be able to ship and receive using the Epicor ERP system.
Use Epicor reports to check material availability and report any deviations to schedule.
Ensure that received material is stored, located, and transacted in an efficient and timely fashion.
Inventory monitoring cycle counts and conducting audits of same to validate results including full physical year end audits.
Create, review, and manage material flow and production metrics by implementing Lean Continuous Improvement initiatives (Conduct 5S workshops, training, etc.).
Coordinate and partner with other area supervisors, purchasing and vendors in a coordinated work effort and team approach to inventory management.
Track due dates for upcoming projects.
Maintain weekly spreadsheet of KPI reports.
Track and close all NCMR reporting.
Sign off on PRF’s to make or reorder parts.
Manage material delivery to the appropriate location.
Reviewing and understanding weekly and daily build plans
Report on status and progress of material fulfillment activities
Attend and participate in daily planning meetings.
Review progress with team daily using informal “stand-up” meeting format.
Assist planners in determining material pull schedules.
Support future model launch activities and special projects.
Work with change coordinator and engineering to facilitate changes to in-process projects.
Support service and installation departments with material organization as needed.
Review assembly drawings and BOM’s to clarify material required.
Review pull lists and audit material being readied for delivery.
Assist in the disposition of material returned from jobs.
Maintains staff by interviewing, selecting, and training employees; maintaining and promoting a safe working environment; and developing personal growth opportunities for employees.
Adhere to all safety procedures including the use of personal protective equipment and navigating the plant with alert behavior.
Train departmental employees to properly operate machinery and Company software.
Must be Forklift certified.
Must be Crane certified.
Must move material with Forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, dollies, and any other qualified method.
Ensuring the proper functioning of all warehouse tools and equipment.
All other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
Technical degree in materials management or 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
2 years of management experience progressive leadership experience.
Experience with managing, inventory and pull systems to meet deadlines
Ability to generate measurable cost savings on a continuous basis and to conduct ad-hoc analysis requests
Proficiency working with ERP systems
Proficiency in MS Office Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel
Excellent communication skills, written and oral, and the ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally.
Ability to read and understand assembly layouts and BOM’s
Evidence of analytical aptitude and communication skills
Experience in material control and organization
