The MRP Planner will be responsible for managing the flow of materials required for production, ensuring optimal inventory levels, and maintaining the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes. This role requires strong analytical abilities, problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of production planning and materials management in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Material Planning: Generate, maintain, and manage MRP schedules to ensure the availability of raw materials, components, and supplies required for production.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular stock audits, and ensure materials are ordered and replenished timely, reducing stockouts or excess inventory.
- Procurement Coordination: Collaborate with production and procurement teams to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and resources based on production forecasts.
- Demand Forecasting: Analyze historical sales data, production schedules, and market trends to forecast material needs and plan production cycles accordingly.
- Supplier Communication: Communicate regularly with suppliers to confirm material availability, delivery timelines, and order quantities.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze MRP system data to identify potential gaps in material supply, production delays, and recommend improvements. Generate reports on material usage, lead times, and production schedules for senior management.
- Problem-Solving: Address and resolve issues related to material shortages, production delays, and other supply chain disruptions.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process improvements within the MRP system, inventory control, and overall production planning to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience (5 years) in MRP planning, production scheduling, or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing or chemical/catalyst production environment.
- Strong understanding of MRP/ERP software systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDE E1 or similar).
- Solid knowledge of inventory management, demand forecasting, and production planning techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Must be able to quickly learn complex software.
- Works well with others; understands and appreciated the value of teamwork.
- Must be intrinsically motivated to succeed and have high standards for one’s own work product.
- Strong and clear written and verbal English communication and presentation skills.
- Strong proficiency with the entire Microsoft Office Suite.
