Lummus Technology is currently seeking a talented Quality Manager to be part of the company’s catalyst supply team. Reporting to the head of Supply Chain, this position will provide critical support for catalyst tolling.
The Tolling Supply Planner will be responsible for managing and coordinating the supply chain activities related to our toll manufacturing operations. This role will involve close collaboration with both internal teams and external toll manufacturers to ensure timely and efficient production and delivery of catalysts. The Tolling Supply Planner will handle the planning, scheduling, and inventory management of materials and products, ensuring that all tolling operations are aligned with demand forecasts and production schedules.
Key Responsibilities
Toll Manufacturing Coordination:
- Collaborate with toll manufacturers to develop production schedules and ensure timely delivery of catalyst products based on demand forecasts and customer requirements.
- Manage relationships with external tolling partners to ensure alignment on production timelines, quality standards, and inventory management.
Supply Chain Planning and Scheduling:
- Develop and maintain detailed production schedules for toll manufacturing, ensuring that all orders are met on time and according to customer specifications.
- Work with internal demand planning, procurement, and sales teams to forecast demand and adjust toll manufacturing plans accordingly.
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods at tolling facilities, ensuring optimal stock levels to meet production and customer demands.
Inventory Management:
- Oversee the inventory of raw materials, components, and finished products at both the company and tolling facilities, ensuring accurate and timely movement of goods.
- Coordinate with toll manufacturers to ensure inventory accuracy, managing stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Implement inventory control processes and systems to streamline the tolling supply chain and ensure smooth operations.
Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP):
- Lead the S&OP process for toll manufacturing, aligning supply and demand forecasts with production schedules to ensure capacity, inventory, and resources are optimized.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and production teams to align demand forecasts with manufacturing capabilities and adjust plans based on market dynamics and customer requirements.
- Prepare and present S&OP reports to senior leadership, highlighting potential risks, supply constraints, and recommendations for adjustments to meet demand.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to toll manufacturing, including production efficiency, on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, and cost control.
- Generate and analyze reports on toll manufacturing performance, highlighting any issues, delays, or opportunities for improvement.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on the status of tolling operations, including any potential risks to supply or production schedules.
Risk Management and Issue Resolution:
- Identify potential supply chain disruptions or delays within the toll manufacturing process and develop contingency plans to mitigate risks.
- Proactively manage and resolve issues related to toll manufacturing, inventory shortages, and transportation delays to minimize impact on production schedules and customer delivery dates.
- Ensure that all toll manufacturing processes adhere to quality standards and regulatory requirements, working with the quality team to address any quality-related issues.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within the tolling supply chain, including better communication with toll manufacturers, improved scheduling practices, and more efficient logistics.
- Work with internal teams and toll partners to implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance supply chain efficiency and reduce costs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with sales, procurement, and production teams to ensure that toll manufacturing schedules align with customer demand and production plans.
- Liaise with the quality management team to ensure that tolling operations meet quality control standards and that products are delivered according to customer specifications.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to align on priorities and ensure the smooth flow of information between departments.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in supply chain planning, logistics, or production coordination, preferably within a manufacturing or tolling environment.
- Experience with toll manufacturing or outsourcing operations in the chemical, catalyst, or similar industries is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of supply chain principles, including demand planning, inventory management, and production scheduling.
- Proficiency in supply chain management software (e.g., ERP systems, planning tools) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to forecast demand, analyze performance data, and optimize supply chain operations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, toll manufacturers, and external suppliers.
- Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to addressing supply chain disruptions and delays.
- Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP) is highly desirable.
