We’re seeking an Accounting Systems Specialist to join our team. In this dynamic role, you’ll work under the general supervision of the Finance Director and take ownership of various accounting and system support tasks. You'll collaborate with project managers and leadership, support real-time reporting needs, maintain data integrity, and improve internal workflows, while also managing critical transactional functions like AP, AR, payroll, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project dashboards and reporting tools.
- Partner with leadership to support real-time decision-making with accurate reporting.
- Ensure data integrity across systems and assist in system configuration improvements.
- Document workflows and support system upgrades and testing.
- Manage accounts payable, payroll entries, and weekly check runs.
- Set up projects and proposals in the accounting system.
- Process accounts receivable, prepare and post client invoices, and maintain billing records.
- Enter payroll data and ensure accurate salaries, bonuses, and deductions processing.
- Assist with compliance tasks such as prevailing wage reporting.
- Contribute to a culture of process improvement and operational excellence.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field
- (OR a minimum of 2 years of transactional business experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Training or experience in information systems and basic programming
- Proficiency in creating, modifying, and maintaining reports
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities
- High ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new systems and processes
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (3 or fewer demerit points)
