- Employee Support: Assist employees by answering questions, providing information, and referring them to appropriate staff to ensure excellent customer service for all employees and applicants.
- Recruitment Support: Help post job openings on job boards, career pages, and social networks. Screen resumes, add candidates to the applicant tracking system (ATS), and schedule as well as confirm interviews.
- Onboarding Assistance: Prepare onboarding materials and welcome boxes and organize new hire orientations to ensure a seamless onboarding process for new employees.
- HR Administration: Maintain and update employee records in the human resources information system (HRIS). Manage records for new hires, promotions, transfers, salary adjustments, performance reviews, and terminations while ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
- Training and Development: Support the coordination of training sessions, workshops, and seminars, including preparing materials and organizing logistics.
- Internal Communications: Create and post internal announcements, including welcome messages, birthdays, promotions, certifications, and wellness updates.
- Employee Engagement: Contribute to the planning and executing of company events, wellness initiatives, and other activities to foster employee engagement and satisfaction.
- Social Media Support: Help create HR-related social media posts that highlight the company’s positive workplace culture and showcase Lumos as an employer of choice.
- Team Collaboration: Present weekly updates on task progress during HR department meetings and collaborate effectively with team members on various projects.
- Confidentiality: Handle sensitive employee information with the utmost confidentiality.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. A third or fourth-year college student enrolled in a Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related field, or a combination of education and work experience.
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a team environment.
- Positive attitude, proactive approach, and willingness to learn.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new tasks and develop personally and professionally.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and familiarity with HR software is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and driving record with three or less demerit points.
