We are looking for a Network Architect for a long-term contract opportunity in Austin, Texas. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in network architecture, working closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement innovative solutions. This role offers a great opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects in a dynamic environment. The position requires being onsite in Austin twice a week. If not located in Austin, the role mandates at least one onsite visit per month at your own expense.
Responsibilities:
Lead the creation and delivery of network solutions as a Subject Matter Expert, offering expert guidance on new network solutions and designs.
Review proposed solutions to ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services to clients.
Serve as a subject matter expert and liaison between the project user community and IT, working with client managers to provide tailored proposals and solutions.
Manage third-party vendors, leveraging knowledge of best practices in networking, data, device hardware, and applications.
Evaluate technologies for potential acquisition, guiding the evaluation of hardware and software resources to identify strengths, weaknesses, and benefits to the agency.
Manage and set priorities for the maintenance, design, development, and analysis of network systems.
Provide support and troubleshoot with the network team during large network outages.
Recommend and implement changes in services, products, protocols, and standards to support development efforts and procurements.
Analyze and manipulate system and application data to review performance, generate insights, drive data-driven decisions, and communicate complex data clearly to stakeholders and management.
You:
8 years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university, preferably with coursework in engineering, information systems, computer science, data processing, or a related field.
8 years of project development experience for engineering projects/systems and/or information technology applications/systems.
Proficiency with Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) preferred.
Familiarity with network equipment such as firewalls, routers, and switches preferred.
Knowledge of Internet of Things (IoT) preferred.
Background in public sector experience (Federal, State, or Local Government) preferred.
Capability in preparing and delivering presentations to large groups preferred.
