Luna Data Solutions is looking for a System Administrator with both Windows and Linux Server experience for a long-term hybrid contract opportunity in Austin, Texas.
Long term contract
Must be local to Austin area at time of submittal
Hybrid 2 days onsite (78744), Tuesdays are mandatory
Yearly retention bonus (for this client only)
System Administrator (Windows/Linux)
Responsible for supporting and managing server infrastructure across Windows Server, Linux Server, AWS, and Azure environments. Key responsibilities include:
- Act as a Senior Technical escalation point for server infrastructure (Windows Server, Linux Server, AWS, Azure)
- Implement and administer Windows Server and Linux Server security policies, patching, standards, and procedures in coordination with Security and Information Security services
- Oversee and interface with service provider support, including opening tickets with Vendors when needed
- Provide Windows and Linux support for systems in Data Centers and cloud environments
- Administer and support Active Directory/Entra ID directory services
- Administer Federation Services within the directory services environment, including other Federated Services and similar applications
- Participate in the annual review of machine plans and workload forecasts
- Advise (or manage) upgrades or configuration changes of existing operating systems
- Provide recommendations on technical strategies, new technologies, and trends
- Collaborate with architects on solution development
- Work with the Applications tower to implement application changes and upgrades
- Manage ticket queues as appropriate
- Create and advise on process development
- Participate in on-call rotation
- Ability to work with multiple vendors
- Assist in audit processes
Required Skills
- 7 years of Windows Server experience
- 5 years of Linux Server experience
- 5 years of Cloud experience (AWS and Azure)
- 5 years of Data Center Infrastructure experience
Preferred Skills
- 3 years of overseeing vendors
- 3 years of ServiceNow experience
- 3 years process and workflow development
