We are looking for a Telecommunications Technician for a long-term contract opportunity in Austin, Texas.
Responsibilities:
Foster and cultivate strong relationships with departments and external agencies to enhance collaboration and service delivery.
Install, program, monitor, maintain, upgrade, and optimize communication and data systems, including handheld/mobile radios, accessories, mobile data computers, and GPS technology.
Ensure proper inventory management and accountability for LMR equipment, shop stock, parts, and materials necessary for repairs or installations.
Diagnose and resolve issues with radio communication systems, radio transceivers, and related peripheral equipment to ensure seamless operation.
You:
High School Diploma or GED, along with two (2) years of relevant experience.
Expertise in Astro P25 simulcast trunked radio systems.
Extensive experience in radio vehicle installations.
Proficient in Land Mobile Radio (LMR) programming.
In-depth knowledge of the Astro 25 Radio System.
Skilled in automotive electrical systems and metal fabrication for radio installations.
Strong background in computer and electronics repair.
