Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Insurance Coordinator to manage all aspects of dental insurance verification, billing, and collections. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, possess excellent communication skills, and have a strong understanding of dental insurance processes. This role also involves occasionally assisting with front desk duties, including answering phones and responding to emails. We are flexible with hours. 3-5 days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits accurately and efficiently.
- Submit insurance claims electronically and follow up on unpaid claims in a timely manner.
- Post insurance payments and manage accounts receivable.
- Handle patient billing inquiries and explain insurance coverage clearly.
- Manage collections process for outstanding patient balances.
- Maintain accurate patient records related to insurance and billing.
- Occasionally assist with front desk tasks, such as answering phone calls and managing email correspondence.
- Collaborate with the clinical and administrative team to ensure smooth workflow.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Insurance Coordinator or in a similar role within a dental practice is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of dental insurance plans (PPO, etc.), billing codes (CDT), and claims processing.
- Experience with dental practice management software (we use Open Dental.)
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Office or Google Suite.
- Positive attitude and a team player mentality.
