The Kingdom East School District is seeking a School Nurse who will be assigned to the Lunenburg School. This candidate will specialize in the practice of professional nursing that advances the well-being, academic success, and lifelong achievement of students. School nurses facilitate positive student responses to normal development; promote health and safety; intervene with actual and potential health problems; provide case management services; and actively collaborate with others to build student and family capacity for adaptation, self-management, self-advocacy, and learning. School nurses plan and prepare the school’s health-related instruction and programming, create an environment of health and wellness and deliver nursing services and health and wellness classroom instruction. The school nurse provides school health services to students in order to integrate health and wellness knowledge and skills throughout the school and curriculum based on knowledge of pediatric, community health, emergency, and mental health nursing.
School nursing is an independent specialty practice, as described in the Vermont Agency of Education's The Standards of School Nursing Practice. Background check, including fingerprinting required upon employment.
