Job Description:
Lunovus, a leader in the eye care industry, requires a Controller to oversee the day-to-day activities and accounting functions including inventory.
Essential Functions:
NOTE: all functions and duties are carried out for multiple companies as needed
* Manage all accounting operations including billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
* Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
* Support month-end and year-end close process
* Maintain regulatory requirements i.e. sales tax, etc.
* Manage and comply with business license requirements for local, state, and federal government reporting and tax filings by establishing renewal tracking system for all Lunovus, business licenses and sales tax permits
* Manage Product Lot numbers and COA’s as needed
* Verify Pest Control Service Documentation is entered monthly
* Track the Water Meter reading is done yearly for credit with BWW
* Oversee the day-to-day accounting functions, collections as well as inventory
* Ensure all accounting duties are carried out in a timely manner, including but not limited to the following:
- entering revenues from prior day or weekend
- preparing journal entries for cash disbursements in bank register not previously reported
- Post cash receipts; credit card receipts; cash deposits
- Record inventory activity from the prior day or weekend
- Collection calls for accounts over agreed upon collection terms
- Delete as needed, any invoices generated in error from both the Lunovus CRM system and Authorize.net
- Make daily deposit when primary individual is out of the office
- Ensure accounting files are kept accurately and filed safely yearly for easy access.
- Reconcile cash accounts on the 1st business day of each month before any cash postings for the new month
- Stay on top of monthly bills, invoices and vendors for payment
* Manage the sales rep’s disbursement cards
* Enter all Association, Rebate and Doc2Home commissions from the prior month
* Review and reconcile other accounts such as prepaids, accrued expenses, etc
* Maintain fixed asset schedule
* Supervise employees, implement policies and guidelines
* Develop, implement and maintain financial controls and guidelines
* Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior management by evaluating, analyzing and reporting appropriate points
* Guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to current economic landscape
* Help develop and support short and long-term operational strategies
* Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
* Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures and workflow
In addition to the responsibilities listed above, individuals may perform other duties assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position is responsible for managing the Accounting Department.
