What are the responsibilities and job description for the Working Supervisor position at Lupo's Spiedies?
Working Supervisor will perform all necessary duties to make, fill, cap, label, and package marinade bottles (16 oz., 64 oz., and 128 oz.), complete all operations of the position in an efficient and quality manner for the operations of Lupo’s Bottling, LLC. Supervisor will work at Sam A. Lupo & Sons, Inc. (dba Lupo’s Spiedies) when required.
Supervisor will be required to oversee production workers/employees employed at bottling company, provide daily direction and guidance, as well as oversee scheduling of employees. Supervisor will coordinate will and adhere to guidance provided by management/owners, food safety manager, and human resources in all capacities required for efficient production and management of Lupo’s Bottling Company.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES include, but are not limited to:
1. Coordinate manufacturing and packaging of marinades and sauces to fill orders in a timely manner (making marinades following recipes; filling marinade bottles of all sizes; capping and shrink wrapping; labeling properly)
2. Adhere to First in First out (FIFO) guidelines
3. Operate all bottling machinery (produce, package, box, and palletize)
4. Loading and/or unloading trucks (company & others)
5. Learn and maintain working knowledge of all areas of plant (i.e., machinery, repairing machinery/equipment; maintenance schedule, cleaning machinery; operating machinery); responsible for performing simple maintenance on all machinery and conveyors
6. Follow all guidelines as it pertains to a food processing facility that adheres to Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) guidelines related to food safety
7. Follow sanitation standards as they relate to FSMA rules; complete sanitation and inspection checks
8. Maintain working knowledge of State Inspections, PH testing, any inspection related to Lupo’s Bottling, LLC
9. Inventory
a. Anticipate and maintain physical inventory count; maintaining proper levels of products (i.e., based on history, time of year, weather, etc.)
b. Provide list of items needed based on inventory and future production to management for ordering purposes; obtaining approval from management for all large orders (i.e., boxes, bottles, spices, etc.)
10. Maintain proper paperwork required for Bottling
a. Receiving product; verifying shipped inventory before signing, etc.
b. Log invoices properly; forward to Corporate Office Bookkeeper
c. Maintain and adhere to all OSHA/Safety requirements;
d. Maintain working knowledge of HR postings; work with HR Coordinator related to Employee matters
11. Training newly hired employee(s) ensuring they are trained properly, as well as providing any updated training(s) requirements; providing proper supervision to team and ensuring safety standards, etc.
12. Attending all trainings (GMP, pallet jack training, etc.) as required
13. Work closely with supervisors, food safety manager, owners, and human resources of Lupo’s Bottling and Lupo’s Spiedies
14. Oversee outside grounds out building (keeping grounds free of debris/garbage; grass/weeds; contact Eliott and/or Maintenance as needed for repairs, etc.; snow removal; trash/recycling removal; keeping delivery tracks off neighboring lawns); maintain cleanliness of building – inside and outside (i.e., Floors, label room, bathroom(s)/breakroom; warehouse; dishes/sinks)
15. Other functions and duties as assigned (i.e., shoveling walkway, salting parking lot, sweeping, mopping, cleaning, sanitizing, etc.; working at meat processing plant, working special events, cleaning catering equipment, etc.)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be at least 18 years of age; 2 years of supervisory experience working in a similar environment
2. Must understand English language as well as be able to read and write English; work with employees where English may not be their primary language
3. Ability to work as a team member, as well as individually
4. Daily reliability, punctuality and attendance required per work schedule, and properly uniformed as required;
5. Flexibility to work at federal meat processing plant (Sam A. Lupo & Sons, Inc., DBA as Lupo’s Spiedies), as well as occasional weekend during peak times at either owned location
6. Must be able to observe employees/coworkers for Safety reasons, etc.
7. Must be aware of and follow quality control requirements
8. Must have a general knowledge, understanding follow HACCP Program, and requirements
9. Must have the ability to accept direction and priorities from manager, assistant manager, or owners
10. Must be able to perform job duties with a minimum of disruption to coworkers or the operation of the business
11. Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds individually or up to one hundred and ten (110) pounds with 2-person lift
12. Must be willing to learn and improve work skills to become an efficient employee
13. Must be aware of company guidelines and policies as well as abide by company guidelines and policies during the work shift
14. Must be aware of the requirements of the State Inspector for the operation of a state inspected bottling plant.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
