At Luria Academy of Brooklyn (, we are inspiring a new generation of leaders, creators, thinkers and engaged citizens. Our two campuses serve 310 students in preschool through 8 grade. Luria offers a sophisticated Jewish day school education in a progressive environment. Our students come from a wide range of religious and economic backgrounds. We track student progress using standards based assessment and grading practices.
We are seeking a passionate and collaborative teacher to join our Lower Elementary team. Successful candidates will possess a growth mindset, emotional intelligence, self-motivation, curiosity and openness to new ideas, excellent oral and written communication skills, and comfort in a school setting where children’s learning and experiences are central to educational decisions.
- Teach whole, small, and individualized lessons in a 2nd/3rd grade mixed-age classroom
- Create a student-centered learning environment
- Implement both differentiated and progressive teaching practices
- Engage in formative and summative student assessment and feedback; use data to inform instruction
- Communicate regularly with parents about academic progress and social-emotional development
- Participate in school events and professional learning communities
- Foster an inclusive environment that celebrates diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Master’s Degree
- Experience working with students with disabilities
- Minimum 3 years of teaching experience
- Strong pedagogical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Creative and dynamic educator
