Position Overview

The Director of Sourcing and Product Development will oversee the creation of strategies and buy plans to purchase products for all product categories. Ensure positive relationships are developed and maintained with overseas suppliers to give company a competitive advantage. Manages aggressive sourcing policies and procedures.

Management and development of staff.

Key Responsibilities:

·      Manage HQ team and overseas offices (China and India)  to fit company business

model and keep continuous growth.

·      Develop new sources of production, negotiate prices, assure the quality and on-time delivery of merchandise.

·      Execute vendor profile and factory capacity evaluations.

·      Advise of competitive developments regarding product, price, etc.

·      Interact with warehouses for watching inventory status

·      Monitor social compliance by supplier with China offices.

·      Follow-up on the timely payment and/or charge backs.

·      Direct purchases in accordance with Company plan and market

conditions to achieve profit requirement.

·      Effectively establish cost pricing at desired economic levels and

negotiate to achieve the targeted gross margins.

·      Develops alternate sources of supply as a bargaining factor and

ready availability.

·      Ensure that product specifications are developed correctly.

·      Ensure that current and accurate shipping schedule is

maintained.

·      Coordinate overseas quality control on assigned products in each

country through communication with the QC manager/agent.

·      Coordinate and monitor yearly Protocol Testing requirements.

·      Work efficiently with team members to update all reporting for

company requirements.

Qualifications

Education:

·      Bachelor's or advanced degree in Textile Engineering / Textile Science, Fashion Merchandising or Apparel/Textile Design, Supply Chain Management / Logistics, or Business Administration / International Business

Certifications:

·      Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) – APICS

·      Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) – APICS

·      Textile Exchange Certifications (e.g., OEKO-TEX, GOTS)

Practical Experience & Skills:

·      Experience in global sourcing and supplier management, especially in countries where textiles are manufactured (China, India, Bangladesh, etc.).

·      Knowledge of textile regulations, compliance, and sustainability standards (GOTS, OEKO-TEX, Fair Trade).

·      Product development experience—working with designers, understanding consumer trends, and material innovation.

·      Negotiation & contract management skills for supplier agreements and cost efficiency.

·      Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.

·      Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.

·      Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

·      Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

·      Strong financial acumen and experience managing IT budgets.
