Administrative RN - Full Time or Part Time
Lutheran Care Center at Poughkeepsie has an immediate need for an experienced Administrative RN. Our ideal candidate has solid experience as a registered nurse with strong clinical, managerial, and assessment skills, and experience with admissions. They must have strong customer service skills, a problem-solving attitude, a high degree of empathy, and interpersonal awareness. They must be capable of handling stressful situations and have the ability to take initiative and act in accordance with The Lutheran Care Center philosophies and standards.
Responsibilities
- Ensure nursing operational standards are met
- Provide reports on productivity, quality and customer service metrics
- Ensure all nurses follow policies and procedures
- Assess Admissions
- Train new team members
- Schedule LPN and CNA shifts
- Assign nurses to patients
- Evaluate nurses’ performance
- Inform family members about medical procedures and doctors’ instructions
- Handle complaints or other issues
- Establish a compassionate environment by providing psychological support to patients, family and friends
- Keep records of nurses’ files, patients’ cases and procedures
Skills
- Experience as a nursing supervisor with admissions in a sub-acute or long-term care setting.
- In-depth knowledge of hospital procedures
- Thorough knowledge of legal regulations and best practices in healthcare
- Training in healthcare administration is a plus
- Team management skills
- Great communication and people skills
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Valid NYS RN license required.
