We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated tutor to provide academic and English language support to refugee children ages 5-18, helping them excel in their schoolwork and build confidence in their English skills. Patience, cultural sensitivity, and a passion for helping students from diverse backgrounds are key to this role.
This is a part-time position working 10 hours each week throughout the school year.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions, helping children with homework, school projects, and exam preparation
Support English language learning
Meet with children during the school day or after school
Help students understand and navigate the American education system, including classroom expectations and homework responsibilities
Foster a welcoming, encouraging, and respectful learning environment that promotes self-confidence and academic success
REQUIREMENTS:
(1) year of related experience;working with children
