LCSNW is a trauma-informed human-services nonprofit agency and the community's Sexual Assault & Crime Victim Service Program. We offer support and advocacy services to anyone who has been impacted by crime, regardless of if it was reported to law enforcement or is being prosecuted. We are a small team of dynamic individuals from diverse backgrounds who embrace our mission of health, justice, and hope.
As a non-profit, we rely on our volunteers to provide advocacy services to survivors outside of business hours. Crisis Response Advocates assist survivors via a 24-hour support line that is directed to volunteers at home and medical advocacy, which is provided to survivors in person at area hospitals when requested. We ask volunteers to sign up for 2-4 on call shifts per month.
Volunteering as an advocate for survivors of sexual assault is a powerful way to make a difference, even if you don’t have formal education on the topic as training and resources will be provided to guide you. Your compassion, willingness to listen, and dedication to supporting others can have an incredible impact. By becoming an advocate, you join a community of people committed to creating safer, more supportive spaces for survivors to heal and seek justice. Your empathy matters more than you think.
We highly value applicants with lived experiences and diverse backgrounds, as they bring unique perspectives and enrich our work with a wealth of knowledge and insights
